Roger Jay Dahlman

Roger Jay Dahlman, age 60, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas with Associate Pastor Lee Davis officiating.

Roger was born on September 9, 1962, in Mesa, Arizona, to James Robert (Bob) and Anita Vangie (Knutson) Dahlman. As a child, Roger was very gregarious and outgoing, full of mischief and good-natured deviltry. He was a boy scout, helped with the family horse, and had a paper route by the age of nine to help contribute to the family finances. His education as a teenager and young man included going to seminary school as well as obtaining his welder certification. Roger learned to make springs, which eventually led him to Texas. Along the way, he learned plumbing, fence building, electrical work, and already knew carpentry from his father. He met his wife, Crystal, in March of 1998. They married that same year in December, after which they bought property in Blum, Texas, and proceeded to raise a family. Roger was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He was a devoted father and husband, doing whatever was needed to provide for his family until he could not work anymore due to a motorcycle accident he had in 1983. Roger was always willing to help anyone at anytime if he was called upon, always giving 100%.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents.
