Biography

Rogers Marshall Davidson, 74, of Abbott passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at a Waco hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Moore Cemetery near Chalk Bluff in McLennan County. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Rogers was born June 19, 1939 in Hillsboro to Rogers T. and Dorothy (Franklin) Davidson. He grew up in the Hillsboro and Chalk Bluff areas. From 1956-1958, he served his country in the United States Air Force. On November 14, 1992, he married Maurita Pharris. He had worked for Providence Hospital, RAM, and A. O. Smith. He was a member of the Chalk Bluff Baptist Church in Chalk Bluff and served on the Cottonwood Water Board. Gardening was a pastime that he loved very much.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Stevie; and step-son, Terry.

Survivors include his wife, Maurita Davidson of Abbott; two sons, Ricky Davidson and wife, Genie, and Kenneth Davidson and wife, Lisa, all of Azle; step-son, Chris Embry, of Hewitt; step-daughter, Machell Ovieto and husband, Juan, of The Colony; two sisters, Melba Smith and husband, Neil, of Tyler and Sandra Gray and husband, Johnny, of Waco; step-brother, Jim Wilson of Whitney; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Lake Success Drive, Waco, TX 76710.
