Rois Meador, Jr

Rois Meador, Jr., 77, of Hillsboro died Thursday, August 28, 2008, at his residence. Rois was born September 13, 1930 in Hillsboro, Texas the son of Rois Earl, Sr. and Donie Green Meador. He grew up and spent most of his life in Hill County. For three years, he served his country in the U. S. Air Force in Spokane, WA during the Korean War where he met and married Peggy Crouch on June 8, 1952 in the Nazarene church. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 39 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Hillsboro Church of Nazarene. Preceding him in death were his parents; son-in-law, Billy Carl Brown, Sr.; two grandchildren, Bryan Brown and Kristina Rankin; and a great-grandson, Caleb Royce Meador. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Meador of Hillsboro; children, Laurie Rankin and husband, Doyle, of Teague, Francie Ruth and husband, Marlon, of Hillsboro, Chuck Meador and wife, Deede, of Hillsboro, and Kenny Meador and wife, Kathy, of Waxahachie; two brothers, Curtis Lee Meador of Pearland and Robert Earl Meador and wife, Lawana, of Kerrville; sister, Loretta Jean Waller and husband, Bobby, of Spring; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
