Ronald Cearley

Ronny was the son of James Doyle and Mertie Calloway Mays Cearley. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1955 and attended Hardin Simmons University. On August 16, 1958, he married Fay Ulke in Stamford, TX. He was employed by Bell Helicopter and retired after 35 years. Ronny was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney, a member of Whitney Masonic Lodge # 355 and was a Mason for 23 years. Ronny was a loving and devoted husband to Fay Cearley as well as a supportive, caring father to his two children Kerry Cearley and Jana Black. He was a proud Pepaw to four grandchildrenNathan Pass, Jessica Cearley, Brent Cearley and Ashley Cearley. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Doyle and Mertie Cearley and brother, Fred Cearley of Abilene. Ronny was an easy going, intelligent, witty, positive, kind, generous, thankful person filled with the peace that comes from knowing his Savior personally and believing in His promises. Thank you, thank you,, thank you, Lord, for one more day, preceded each of his prayers. A machinist by career, a proud Mason, an avid sports fan, golfer, rancher, choir member, outdoor enthusiast, and an all-around sociable person. He fought the good fight mentioned in the Bible. A massive heart attack and pulmonary fibrosis may have slowed him down physically but not spiritually. He showed us how to live in hope by staying positive through lifes valleys. We thank God for his life with us. Until we meet in the promised land of all his believers, farewell for now, Ronny. Other survivors included nieces, nephews and very special families: John Gay and wife Ann of Fair Oaks Ranch, Tx.; Jim Ballard and wife, Sarah of Weatherford and Jay Thiele of Clifton.
