Ronald Hobbs

Ronald Hobbs 65, of Whitney, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2013. Services will held 2 p.m. Wednesday March 13, at the Open Range Cowboy Church near Whitney with Reverend Gerald Dudley officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Ronald will lie in state Tuesday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Ronald was born on November 29, 1947, in Italy, Texas to Tommy and Ludie (Hines) Hobbs. He lived in Goldsmith, Texas for most of his youth and attended Odessa High School. On October 30, 1966, he married Ruby Doris Gardner. Ronald worked most of his life in management and sales. His last job was manager of used cars at Southtown Ford in the 1990's. He was an avid fisherman, past member of the Lions Club of Whitney, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Hobbs and sister, Sherry Hobbs.

Survivors include his spouse, Doris Hobbs, of Whitney; mother Ludie Hobbs, of Waco; children, Ron D. Hobbs and wife, Debbie of Frisco, Chad Hobbs and wife, Heather of Lancaster; brother, Tommy Earl Hobbs of Lubbock; grandchildren, Taylor, Zach, Matthew, and Timothy.
