Ronald Douglas Wood

Ronald Douglas Wood, 75, of Woodbury passed away at Homestead Nursing Home on Thursday, July 29, 2021, after a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Richard Hill officiating. Burial will follow at New Woodbury Cemetery in Woodbury. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, August 2, 2021, at the funeral home.

Ron was the son of the late Leonard and Gwen Johnston Wood. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1964. While in high school, he enlisted in the Marines Reserves and after graduation became a fulltime Marine. For many years, Ron worked in the mobile home and metal business. On March 15, 1999, Ron married Donna Brooks Hill. After retirement, Ron and Donna operated a small cattle and rental business. He was a member and a trustee of the Woodbury Baptist Church.

Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Wood; sister, Lynette Leber and husband, Nick; children, Nathan and Shannon Wood, James Douglas Wood and fiancée, Otilia Ayats-Mas, and daughter, Megan Cross and husband, Scott; stepson, Chase Hill and wife, Sheri; grandchildren, Makayla Johnson and Garrett and Jack Wood; and step-grandchildren, Finley, Ava, Brooks, and Harper Hill.
