Ronnie Eugene Maggard, 76, of Bynum, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Hillsboro, Texas. A visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. The family requests that family and friends wear red, white and blue but not black.

Ronnie was born March 28, 1948, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Troy Eugene and Peggy Lorene (Smith) Maggard. He joined the United States Army in 1967 and spent time serving in Vietnam. Ronnie was honorably discharged in 1970. He married Barbara C. Burns in 1971, and welcomed a son, Troy Eugene Maggard in 1972 and a daughter, Joyce Jean Lorene Maggard in 1979. Together, they made their home in Burleson, Texas.

He loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids and was their biggest supporter and they thought their Papa was very special and they all loved him very dearly. Ronnie also loved his motorcycle. He was a member of the Ranch house Cowboy Church in Maypearl, Texas.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Peggy Maggard; two brothers, David and Darrell; two nieces, Cindy and Kendall; two nephews, Johnny and Alfred; and sister-in-law, Debbie. He is survived by two brothers, Barry and Bob Maggard; sister, Shelley Maggard; son, Troy Maggard and his wife, Tori of Burleson; daughter, Joyce Rawlins and her husband, Mike of Bynum; six grandkids, Taylor Parker and husband Caleb, Haley Maggard, and Caden Maggard, all of Burleson, Caleb Maggard and Matthew Rawlins, of Bynum, and Vannessa Cisneros and her husband, Daren, of Itasca; great grandkids, Barren Parker and Charlotte Ann Parker, and a great grandson due December 26, 2024, Trent Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronnie was a fighter though he went peacefully to be with our heavenly father. He will be missed but never forgotten.
