Rosa Lee was born March 3, 1921 in De Leon, Texas, the youngest of nine children to Charlie Horton and Rosa Ellen (Pendergrass) McCurdy. She graduated from De Leon High School where she was a fantastic student. In May of 1941, Rosa Lee married Melvin M. Hull and they lived in the Junction/London area for several years. They moved to Hamilton and later to Milford, where Melvin was foreman of the M & M Ranch. Rosa Lee was always proud to be the wife of a rancher. When her beloved cowboy had suffered several strokes, she cared for him at home until he entered the nursing home.
In addition to raising two girls and having hot meals for her rancher, she spent a good deal of time being active at Milford Presbyterian Church where she participated in the Women of the Church, was a Sunday School teacher, and played piano for the Adult Sunday School Class. She babysat for several of the Pastors' children and several of the neighbors' children after her girls were grown and married. Rosa Lee loved to fish and was always a good seamstress. Just prior to becoming a resident at The Legends, she quilted at the Senior Center in Milford for several years.
Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Johnnie, Inzer, Guy, Gladys, Faye, Arthur, and Ida.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Michael F. Cheatham of Milford; daughter, Glynda Duran of Ennis; brother, Charlie McCurdy of Comanche; grandchildren, Michael M.
