Rose Etta Jordon, 73, of Hillsboro, passed away on November 12, 2015. Funeral services will be at 11:00 PM, Monday, November 16, 2015, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Pastors Colton Yarbro and Wade Yarbro, officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View “Jawbone” Cemetery near Blum. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Rose was born on January 7, 1942, near Ballinger, to Thomas Howard and Emma Mae (McMurtrey) Jordon. On May 4 1963, she married Timothy W. Jordon, Sr., and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2008. Rose was an excellent cook who loved being outside, working in her yard and being with the birds and flowers. She especially enjoyed her cattle, always making sure they were well taken care of.
Her grandchildren were the center of her world.
She was baptized on March 27, 1960 at Webster United Methodist Church and was a faithful and active member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were an infant son, Walter Ray Jordan; her parents; 2 sisters, Geraldine Hughs and Sylvia Ann Manshack.
Survivors include children, Timothy W. Jordon, Jr., and wife, Betty of Hillsboro, Weldon H. Jordon and wife, Lisa of Blum, Wendell L. Jordon and wife, Melissa, Daniel W. Jordon and wife, Alicia and Emma D. Cole and husband, Danny, all of Hillsboro; thirteen grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas H. Jordon, Jr., of Paris, Robert Jordon and Mickey Jordon of La Porte; and sister Betty Cucco.
