Ross Jennings, age 91 of Deer Park, Tx. died Saturday July 4, 2010 at The Waterford in Deer Park. Mr. Jennings was born January 4, 1919 and reared in Whitney, by his parents James Waddle and Alta Maud Jennings. He attended Whitney high school and received an Associates Degree from Hill Junior College. Ross married Allene Cox in Ft. Worth where they resided for 30 years, retired to Whitney, his home town and lived there until 2007 when they relocated to Deer Park. They were married for 63 years. Mr. Jennings was a World War II Army Veteran, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the Masonic Ledge and a faithful member of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Ft. Worth, Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Whitney and First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. He ws preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Jennings, Jr. and three sisters, Lillian Jennings, Mabel Peters, and Betty Keator. He is survived by his wife, Allene Jennings of Deer Park, one sister, Jean Newman of Amarillo, two daughters, Carol Parks and husband, Lawrence Wayne Parks, Sr., Rhonda Haskins and husband, Stephen Murray Haskins, grandchildren, Kimberly Michelle Parks, Lawrence Wayne Parks, Jr. and wife Kristen, Jamie Denise Haskins, Ross Brannon Haskins and great-grandchildren, Makensie Paige Parks, Emma Elizabeth Parks, and Macy Lauren Parks. Memorial donations may be made to one of the following: First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena Gathering Place Alzheimer Ministry 4647 Preston, Pasadena, Tx. 77505 or to a charity of choice. The family wishes to thank the angels of the Waterford, San Jacinto Manor and A*Med Healthcare Group Hospice for their loving care. Mr. Ross Jennings lived his life loving God, protecting his family and watching after others in need.
