Ruby Crawford

Ruby Matlock Crawford, 80, formerly of Laguna Park passed away on Sept. 15, 2008 in Lewisville. Ruby was born on Jan. 9, 1928 in Hollis, OK. to the late G. W. and Polly Catherine Stephens Matlock. She married William Matthew Crawford on Jan. 18, 1946 in Fort Worth and he preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2007. She was a very active and faithful member of her church, loving children and working with vacation bible school. She also enjoyed music, singing in the church choir and playing the guitar. She and her sister also played guitars together in the early 40's on the radio. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney and a member of the Whitney VFW Ladies Auxillary Post # 8571. Also preceding her in death were her infant son, brother, Raymond Matlock and sister, Dortha Mae Quinn. Survivors include her children, Patricia Smith and husband, Marion of Laguna Park, Brad Crawford and wife, Patsy of Lewisville; sister, Eva Lee Sumerlin and husband, Johnny of Paris; 3 grandchildren, Dale Crawford of Beaumont, Cody Crawford of Lewisville, Amie Smith of Waco; 2 great grandchildren, Ashley Wright and Allyssia Crawford both of Waco; numerous nieces and nephews.
