Ruby Laura Zettler

Ruby Laura Zettler of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Hillsboro.  Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Salem Lutheran Church in Malone, Texas, with burial to follow at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.  Ms. Zettler will lie in state from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, in Hillsboro, Texas.

Born on July 20, 1926, to Albert and Selma Marie (Scheu) Zettler, near Irene, Texas, she and her family moved to Hubbard when Ruby was young.  Ruby was baptized August 26, 1926, at Salem Lutheran Church and was confirmed April 6, 1941, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Malone.  She worked at Bill’s Dollar Store and took care of the elderly in the community.  A member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Ruby enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, and visiting with people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter Zettler, and his wife Toni; and special friend Jack Perkins.  Ruby is survived by several cousins and a special friend, Barbara Couch.

Memorials may be given to the Salem Lutheran Church or the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Malone, Texas.
