Ruby Mayfield

Ruby Mayfield, 88, of Whitney passed away on June 15, 2007 at Lake Whitney Medical Center in Whitney. Ruby was born on June 6, 1919 in Cooper, Texas to Samuel and Gladys Rule Dean. She moved to California in 1938 where she met and married Doyle E. Mayfield. They lived in California and Arizona before moving back to Texas in 1951. They lived in the Pleasant Grove and Mesquite areas before moving to Whitney in the mid 1960's and later moved back to Mesquite. After Doyle?s death in 1980, Ruby moved back to Whitney. Ruby was of the Nazarene faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle; brother, William Dean; sisters, Mary Arlene Dean, Gladys Mary Simmons and Velma Ruth ?Ruthie? O?Conner; daughter, Phyllis Brown, granddaughter, Misty Dawn Mayfield; grandson, William Thomas Mayfield, Jr. and great grandson, Michael Anderson, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ann Gillespie of Mesquite; son, William T. ?Bill? Mayfield and wife, Opal of Whitney; brother, Noah Thomas Dean and wife, Retha of Paris; 9 grandchildren, Terry Edward Hinkle of Dallas. Debra Ann Anderson of Carrolton, Bobby Jean Krider of Dallas, Brian Dale McCallum and wife, Linda of Scurry, Keith Edward McCallum and wife Courtnie of Mesquite, Kelly Thomas McCallum and wife, Brandy of Mesquite, Thomas Edward Mayfied of Richardson, William Clark Mayfield and wife, Carrie of Whitney, Nathan Mayfield of Whitney; 12 great grandchildren.
