Ruby was the daughter of M.M. and Bessie McMillan Roberts and grew up in the Bethel-Woodbury area. She lived most of her life in Hill County and married Arthur Schulz on March 6, 1927, he preceded her in death on December 1, 1983. Her life was documented in a book titled, Ruby Remembers, which recorded events in Hill County in the early 1900's. For the last 56 years, she has lived in the Abbott Community and was very active at the Abbott Baptist Church where she was a self- taught Bible scholar and teacher. Thousands of people were influenced by her to become Christians and her legacy will live on through them. Ruby loved to play 42, did oil paintings and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Whitney Survivors include three children: Billy Marlin Schulz and wife, Dorothy of Abbott;Faye Wingate and husband, Charles of Abbott; and Betty Willis and husband, Jack of Waco; one sister, Alice Mae Foster of Ft. Worth; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Abbott Baptist Church, 104 S.
