Ruby Zettler

Ruby M. Zettler, 86, of the Malone and Hillsboro area passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016, at St. Catherine Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Michael Nemec of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Malone. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday prior to service time.

Ruby was born December 21, 1929 in the Malone-Reinze area of Hill County to Ed and Elsie (Kaddatz) Krueger. She was baptized on January 19, 1930 at Salem Lutheran Church in Malone. Her sponsors were Aug. Kaddatz, Marie Sager, and Alice Kaddatz. On April 18, 1943, she was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Salem Lutheran Church. Ruby’s confirmation verse was 2nd Peter 3:18, “Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” She and Robert F. Zettler were united in marriage on April 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1994. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and was a housewife.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Raymond Krueger; and sister, Viola “Vi” Krueger Zettler.

Survivors include her children, Larry Wayne Zettler and wife, Julie, and Barbara Zettler Janek and special friend, Bobby; brother, Milton Krueger; sister, Nelda Krueger Ondrej; four grandchildren, Michelle Marie Janek Russell and husband, Matt, Michael Thomas Janek and wife, Megan, Zachary Reed Zettler and wife, Laura, and Cody Wayne Zettler and wife, Lori; and eight great-grandchildren, Mitchell Janek, Hunter Janek, Gunner Russell, Gavin Russell, Cohen Zettler, Parker Zettler, Lily Zettler, Claire Zettler.
