Russell Hughes

Russell Hughes 57, of Blum passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. A visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Russell was born on October 21, 1960 in Cleburne to Harold H. and Nancy G. Hughes. He lived in Cleburne as a young man before moving to Blum where he lived for 34 years. Russell worked as a surveyor and then lot prep for 33 years before retiring 10 years ago due to his health. After retiring, he spent almost everyday fishing as it was his passion. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Russell was a member of Bono Baptist Church.

He was preceding in death by his father, Harold Hughes and a niece, Lisa Hughes.

Survivors include his mother Nancy Hughes of Cleburne, children, Dustin Hughes of Blum, Jason Hughes of Dallas, Jessica Bachhofer of Kopperl; brother, Mike Hughes of Cleburne,; grandchildren, Hayden Hughes, Brayden Hendrix, Levi Hallmark, Waylon Bachhofer, Byrun Mabry, Kayla Immel; great-grandchildrn, Carson Immel, Erin Immel, Eli Mabry; Rhonda Hughes, mother of his children and his companion and best friend “JJ”(Jinko Jr.).
