Russell Halsey Kroll, 65, of Whitney, passed away on November 16, 2014, at his residence. No services are scheduled at this time.

Russell was born in Racine, Wisconsin, on August 6, 1949, to Halsey and Madeline Marie (Fredericks) Kroll. He lived most of his life in Red Granite, Wisconsin, moving from Dallas to Whitney in 2007. He served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. A western enthusiast, he collected old western books as well as Indian relics. He worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion Post #522 of Whitney. He was of the Baptist faith

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eva Riley.

He is survived by a son, Lewis Kroll; a grandson, Gavin Kroll; brothers, John Kroll, David Kroll and Don Kroll; sisters, Linda Taylor, Susan Hagar, Grace Kidawell and Emma Curtis.
