Ruth Jones

Ruth Jones, 67, of Blum, passed away in Whitney, on May16, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 20, 2013 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Dr. Gerald Dudley officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm, Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 2:30 pm, Monday afternoon, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.

Ruth was born on June 4, 1945, in Axtell, Texas, to Billy Morris and Bobbie Nell (Magee) Sawyer. She married James Nolan Jones on September 2, 1967, in Grapevine, Texas. For several years she worked for the Whitney ISD in the cafeteria as well as working as a beautician and being self employed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them very much. She liked playing dominoes and especially liked winning. She also enjoyed spending time at Lake Whitney with her husband in their RV. Ruth was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church of Whitney.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a son, Billy Carl Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Jones of Blum; daughter, Melissa Bailey and husband, Chris, of Grandview; one brother Mike Sawyer of Whitney; granddaughter, Sydney Bailey of Grandview; niece Tiffany Sawyer of Whitney and nephew Jacob Sawyer of Waco.
