Sabre (Sevier) Schronk

Sabre Schronk, 66, of Bynum passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at her residence.  The family held a private graveside service.  The public is invited to sign the register book at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from Noon until 5:00 p.m.

Sabre was born July 10, 1956, in Alabama to Doyle and Zerline Gorham Sevier.  A proud Army “brat”, she lived all over the world…Japan, Kansas, San Antonio, Germany, and Milford.  When her father retired from the Army, they moved to the Sevier family farm in Milford and Sabre enrolled at Hill Junior College, majoring in Business Administration.  There she was active in the Young Republicans Club and Office Education Association (OEA) where she was the Texas State President.  While attending college, she met her future husband on a blind date in 1977.

On January 21, 1978, she married the love of her life, Donald Schronk, and they began their life together in Bynum.  Over the years she was a clerk, secretary, bank teller, and substitute teacher and aide.  But her favorite job titles were grandmother, mother, farmer’s wife, and homemaker.  Sabre believed the kitchen is the heart of the home, and anyone who visited her home was welcomed to sit around the kitchen table and visit.  She loved working in her garden and landscaping her yard.  She was also an animal lover- always taking care of cottontails, dove, chickens, and her precious dogs and cats.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her special Aunt Polly and Uncle Jay Cockerham, as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Odessa Schronk.

Sabre leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her beloved husband for nearly 45 years, Donald Schronk of Bynum; her two daughters, Mindy Schronk Hoyle and husband, John, of Abbott and Mary Joe Schronk of Hillsboro; one beloved grandson, Matthew Joseph Hoyle; two brothers-in-law, Sam Schronk of Hillsboro and Wendell Schronk and wife, Debbie, of San Antonio; and nieces and nephews.

The Schronk family sincerely appreciates Dr. Jeremy Seely for the personal attention, care, and comfort he provided our mother and our family.
