Sallie Desmond

Sallie Laverne Desmond passed away Wed. morning, April 4, 2007 after a long hard battle with cancer. Sallie was born on June 16, 1928, the third child of ten children born to Charlie and Sallie Taylor in Collin County, Texas. On May 28, 1948 she married William R. Desmond, Jr. in Weatherford. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers and five sisters. Sallie was a person of many talents. She was an avid hunter, fisherman, cook, seamstress, poet and domino player. She also enjoyed a good argument. She loved her church ?Fort Graham Baptist?and was very active in it until her health prevented it. Although she had no children, she was an aunt, grandmother, and teacher to all her sibling?s children, teaching them old games and inventing new ones which she played with them.
