Samuel Reid

Samuel W. Reid, 83, of Whitney passed away on Tue. March 11, 2008 in Whitney. He was born on March 2, 1925 in Arnetville, Hill County, TX to William Paul and Lillie Gertrude Boyd Reid. He graduated from Irving High School and attended SMU for two years. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army enlisting on May 1, 1943 and was honorably discharged on May 1, 1945. While in the service he served in both the European and Pacific theater. He also worked for Firestone for several years and later at Curry Office Supply and part time for American Ice. He was a member of the Laguna Park Church of Christ. Survivors include his brothers, Wallace Reid of Temple, Bill Chapmon and wife, Faye of Cleburne; sister, Wanda Peters of Whitney and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
