Sandra Steele

Sandra Steele, age 63, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Temple Living Center-Western Hills nursing facility in Temple, Texas, where she had been a resident for several years. Ms. Steele was born in Hillsboro on April 30th 1945. She attended Abbott High School and went on to attend Temple Jr. College on a basketball scholarship. After graduating from junior college, she was employed by Scott and White Hospital as a technician in the radiology department. She worked there for more than 20 plus years. An avid sports fan, she refereed games on the side, and was recognized at the girls state basketball play-offs in Austin one year as an outstanding referee. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Jay Steele, her mother, Florence Reed Steele, and an infant sister Sarah Jo Steele, all of Aquila. Sandra is survived by her sister, Lellene Steele Satterwhite of Lubbock, a niece, Darla Adair Davidson of Garland, and a nephew, Daryl Adair of Lubbock; six great-nieces and nephews, and several cousins. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Scott and White hospice staff, and the loving and caring nursing staff at Temple Living Center for taking such good care of Sandra for so long. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Temple Veterinary Hospital in memory of Sandra and her love of her wonderful dogs.
