Sandra Sue (Smith) Steele

Sandra Sue (Smith) Steele, age 83 of Whitney passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at her residence in Whitney. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Hickey Cemetery in Hillsboro with Levin Ainsworth officiating.

Sandra was born March 18, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Dumas and Mary Ann (Hooks) Smith. She grew up in Nacogdoches, where she was married 3 times and had 5 children. Sandra raised her children in Dallas, Texas, but also spent time in Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. She enjoyed painting with oils. Her favorite hobby was repurposing furniture and shopping thrift stores. Sandra had an immense love for politics and Donald J. Trump.

She is preceded on death by daughter, Andrea Shinn; brother, James Hooks; sisters, Diane, Savathia, and Dominica; mother, Mary Ann Smallwood; and father, Dumas Smith.

Sandra is survived by her children, Dawn White, Deborah Fiffick, and Kimberly Offield; and sister, Dephene.
