Sandy Upchurch

Sandy Upchurch, age 72, of Itasca passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Bro. Brian Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Sandy was born on November 30, 1945, in Hillsboro to Marvin and Annie Ruth Davidson. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. After graduation, she worked for the carpet plant in Hillsboro for a number of years and later also worked as a beautician in Hillsboro. On November 22, 1975, she and Wayne L. Upchurch were united in marriage in Itasca. The couple moved to Comanche in 1982, where they lived until 1987. They later moved back to Itasca in the late 1980's. For almost 20 years, she was employed as a dietician at the Itasca Nursing Home.

When Sandy was not working, she enjoyed decorating, crafts, crochet, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. A very artistic person, she also had a green thumb and loved to tend her flowers. She often made floral arrangements for family and friends. Sandy was a member of the Community Church of Itasca

Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Faye Upchurch.

Her survivors include her husband of almost 42 years, Wayne Upchurch; two sons, Paul Upchurch and wife, Leslie, of Cleburne and Brian Upchurch and wife, Holly, of Pursley; sister, Sue Collins of Itasca; four grandchildren, Elijah, Zander, Brylie and Paisley Upchurch; and a number of nieces and nephews.
