Scott Goodman

Scott Goodman, 58, of Mertens died Saturday, November 22, 2008, in Mertens. Private memorial services will be held at a later date Scott was born February 6, 1950 in Waxahachie, Texas the son of James Mark and Lois Lucinda Herrin Goodman. He grew up in Mertens and graduated from Frost High School. He attended Navarro Junior College and North Texas State University. He was an industrial worker. He lived in Dallas for a while until moving back to Mertens in 1996. An animal lover, Scott worked as a handler for show dogs. He also enjoyed compiling genealogy information. He was of the Methodist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, James Herrin Goodman. Survivors include two sisters, Glenda Vardeman and husband, Bill, of Hubbard and Bettye Ballew of Kilgore; five nephews, Jim Ballew of Kilgore, Craig Ballew and wife, Tammy, of Cartersville, GA, Mark Vardeman and wife, Donna, of Hubbard, Russell Vardeman and wife, Wendy, of Liberty Hill, and Mitchell Vardeman of Hubbard; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
