Senora Hill

Senora “Sunny” Hill, 82, of Aquilla, passed away on September 10, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with David Snipes and Dennis Rejcek officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery near Laguna Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, on Friday, September 11, 2015, at the funeral home.

Sunny was born in Yellow Rock, Kentucky, on March 9, 1933, to Jesse Thomas and Allie Arvia (Morris) Arvin. When she was five years old, she moved with her family to Indiana and grew up there, graduating from high school in Richmond, Indiana. In 1956, she moved to Texas.
On March 13, 1972, she married James Winston Hill in Hugo, Oklahoma and the couple settled in Aquilla.

She always lived life to the fullest and was very spontaneous. Everyone knew her as “Sunny” because of her constant smile and sunny disposition. In her spare time, she loved crafting.
Sunny was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church near Aquilla.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Anna Williams and a brother, Leon Arvin; a daughter Rhonda Lynn Brooks; grandson, Johnny Amyx; and a great-granddaughter, Rhonda Amyx.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jim Hill of Aquilla; six children, Richard Amyx of Aquilla, Randall Amyx of Weatherford, Carla Campbell and husband, Paul of Mesquite, Melissa Amyx of Keller, Amberly Amxy of Livingston and Kyle Hill of Aquilla; nine grandchildren, Kandy, Tracy, Richard, Elizabeth, Selina, Josh, Amanda, Dustin and Julie; and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Arvin and Angela Arvin of Richmond, Indiana.
