Shannon Fant

Shannon Denise Fant, 44, of Whitney passed away September 29, 2016, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Salem Lutheran Church in Malone with Pastor James Heiser officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Malone. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Monday, October 3, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Shannon was born on April 28, 1972, in Denton to Don and Linda (Tucker) Baker. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1990 and then attended Mountain View Junior College. Shannon continued her education at Colorado Technical Institute where she received her bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in 2005. For the last 12 years, she has worked for Hill County CSCD as a probation officer. On August 29, 2009, Shannon and Robert Sean Fant were united in marriage in Malone. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Malone.

Shannon enjoyed playing computer games and attending concerts with her husband Robert. She also enjoyed all types of music. She especially loved dolphins and enjoyed swimming and interacting with them when she traveled.


Survivors include her husband, Robert Sean Fant of Whitney; parents, Don and Linda Baker of Whitney; daughter Haley Rhoads, of Whitney; brother, Tracy Baker, of Spring; sister-in-law, Amy Milstead of Spring; mother-in-law, Linda Damon, of Hillsboro; grandmother, Marjorie Tucker of Clifton and several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
