Sherry Ramos, 38, of Hillsboro, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Sherry was born September 20, 1967 in Garland, Texas the daughter of Claude Oland and Vera Boyd Wingate. As a small child she moved to Covington where she grew up and graduated from high school. A very talented athlete, she played basketball four years for Covington High School and also enjoyed softball and volleyball. After high school, she worked at Brookshires for a few years before going to work at Wal-Mart where she had been the past 15 years. On November 18, 2004 she married Tony Ramos in Hillsboro. She took great pleasure in collecting knick-knacks and dearly loved and cared for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching all of their games. She attended First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Preceding her in death were her father, Oland Wingate; and her mother-in-law, Amy Ramos. Survivors include her husband, Tony Ramos of Hillsboro; her mother, Vera Wingate of Hillsboro; sisters, Debbie Davis and husband, Donald, of Whitney and Donna Miller and husband, Butch, of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Billy Ramos of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Kathy Roden and husband, Mark, of Hillsboro; and nieces and nephews, Kama Miller, Karley Miller, and Trey Miller all of Hillsboro; Connor Davis of Whitney; Alicia Davis of Waco; Lauren Ross of Arizona; Greg Roden, Adam Roden, and Jaime Roden all of Hillsboro.
