Shirley Hawkins, 73, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 11, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to service time at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Shirley was born October 26, 1939 in Hill County to Lester Lee and Mae Dell (Terry) Hawkins. She had a sweet spirit and loved everybody, especially her four brothers and sister. She would tease and call each of them her favorite when they walk in the room. Crocheting and working word puzzles is what she enjoyed doing most.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Survivors include her mother, Mae Dell Hawkins of Hillsboro; sister, Marilyn Rapp of Hillsboro; four brothers, Kenneth Hawkins and wife, Marilyn, of Burleson, Johnny Hawkins and wife, Donna, of China Spring, Terry Hawkins and wife, Sue, of Hillsboro, and Gaylon Hawkins and wife, Tawny, of Axtell; aunt, Gene Burton of Fort Worth; uncle, J. B. Terry and wife, Anita, of Dallas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
