Shirley Lee (Sullivan) Mcginty

Shirley Lee McGinty, 82, of Brandon graduated to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 22, 2023.  Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Brandon – Bynum Cemetery in Brandon.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall in Hillsboro.

Shirley was born December 12, 1940, in Amarillo, Texas to Hartwell Levi and Lillian Sullivan.  She graduated from Palo Duro High School and met and married the love of her life Pat L. McGinty in Amarillo and they shared over fifty-two years of marriage. They moved to Hill County in the early 1970’s where they raised their family and worked as real estate agents for over thirty years.

Shirley and Pat are survived by their three children Patrick McGinty, Shelley and Kenneth Brown of Bynum and Timothy and Kristin McGinty of Brandon along with four grandchildren, Jodi McGinty, Justin Brown, Mollie and Colt McGinty and one great-grandchild, Caleb McGinty.

Shirley truly had a heart for the Lord, and that love for the Lord shined through in everything she did.  Her smile could light up a room and bring comfort to all who knew her.

Of the many things Shirley poured her heart into that brought her joy, her greatest joy was her family and friends.

The McGinty family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and their caregivers for their care, and an incredibly special thank you to Martha Salazar and Christina Cox for their care, love and support of Shirley.

Shirley’s wisdom and love will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
