Shirley Ann Wood

Shirley Ann Wood, age 87 of Blum passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at her residence in Blum. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Kimball Bend Cemetery in Bosque County with Levin Ainsworth officiating.

Shirley was born March 24, 1935, in Brownwood, Texas parents Lilla Lavelle Crowder Evans and Ray Crowder. She went to high school at Eagle Pass and graduated in 1952. Shirley was united in marriage to David H. Wood on June 14, 1963. She lived in Joshua, Texas most of her life and retired at Lake Whitney, Texas. During her working years, she worked at Leonard’s in Downtown Ft. Worth, Joshua Elementary, and FBC of Joshua. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, painting, reading, and knitting. Shirley also loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and her great grandkids.

Preceding her in death was her husband, David H. Wood; parents, Lilla Lavelle and Ray Crowder; and her grandmother, Pearl Ginn.

Shirley is survived by her children, David Wood Jr. and wife Lisa, Douglas Wood and wife Ruby, and Lois Smith and husband Aaron; grandchildren, Douglas Wood, Jr. and wife Amanda, David Wood III and wife Bailey, Kayce Wood, Danny Wood and wife Megan, and Hannah Wood and Andrew Arellano; great grandchildren, Emery Wood and Oaklyn Arellano.
