Sid Kuykendall, 79, of Denton passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Brandon Cemetery in Brandon. Visitation will be from Noon-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the graveside, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born July 21, 1935 in Hill County, he was the son of Woodrow Wilson and Oleta (Frank) Kuykendall. For many years, he was an elevator mechanic for Dover Elevator Company in Dallas, Lubbock, Waco, and retired in 1999 in San Angelo. On August 7, 1975, he married Wanda Lansford. Very much a people person, Sid never met a stranger and loved to talk. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed traveling and finding interesting routes to get to places. Sid was a big NASCAR fan and loved going to the races. He was a member of the Lions Club and was of the Methodist faith. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Bruce Kuykendall; sister, Patsy Kelley; and step-son, Barry Kidd.

Survivors include his children, Michael Kuykendall and wife, Jo-Ann, of Aubrey, Gregory Kuykendall of Irving, Randall Kidd and wife, Micki, of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa Owens and husband, Lance, of Lubbock, and Beckie Morehead and husband, Richard, of Plano; brother, Wayne Kuykendall of Waxahachie; brother-in-law, James Kelley of Kerens; sister-in-law, Billie Kuykendall of Brandon; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
