Sidney Bailey

Sidney Wayne Bailey, 83 of Whitney passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012.

Services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth and Rev. Rusty Penny officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation with the family will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Sidney was born March 29, 1928 in Aquilla, Texas to George and Maggie Bailey. He married Marian Lykins on September 25, 1948. Sidney was a Korean war veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a member of Polytech Masonic Lodge #925 AF&AM, a 50 year Mason and a Master Mason. He was also a Boy Scout Master. For 43 years, he worked for Central Freight Lines. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church in Whitney.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Eugene, Joseph, Edward, Emmett and Ellis Bailey and sister, Ezlea Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Marian; sons, Larry Bailey and wife, Beth, Mark Bailey and wife, Denice; daughter, Judy Brown and husband, Preston; brother, George Bailey; grandchildren, Rachel Krajca, Laura Krajca, Kohle Bailey, Nick Bailey, Bridget Bailey, Zackery Bailey and Conner Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews.
