Stephen Lynn Frank, Sr. passed away at his farm early Monday morning, June 8, 2020 at the age of 73.
Steve was born to parents W.W. "Ollie" and Emma Orr Frank on November 23, 1946 and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1965. He attended Texas A&M University where he majored in Electrical Engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets, performing in the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. After college he found work at General Dynamics in Fort Worth building fighter aircraft. Also, at this time, he co-founded Reelsound, a custom mobile recording company, with partner Malcolm Harper. Later, he became an electrician in the construction firm Brown & Root and helped construct power plants and refineries all over the southwest. In 1972, he returned home and became a commercial and residential electrician serving Hill County. In 1977, he succeeded his parents in delivering newspapers in Hillsboro, expanding this business into a storefront and bookstore, The Newsstand. Steve continued throwing newspapers for the rest of his life, going 30 years without missing a morning. He inherited his father's personal motto and lived life by it: "Nuf Sed."
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Emma Frank. Steve is survived by his former spouse and current partner of 20 years, Sarah Stellabotte and their three children, Tonya Degges and her husband Cody, Wendy Dove and her husband Butch, and Stephen Frank, Jr. Steve is also survived by his former spouse, Barbara Frank and their two children, Jennifer Faulknor and her husband Mark, Jonathan Frank and his wife Riki. Steve will be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Heather Amaya (Jose), Colton Rios, Brandon Frank, Victoria Blacksher (David), Garrett Langley, Braden Degges, Evan Faulknor, Andrew Faulknor, his seven great grandchildren, and his sister, Margianna Wissinger and her husband Ken along with their three children, Greg Wissinger, Laurel Lennon (John) and Tricia Wissinger.
