Steve Mccown

Stephen Young McCown passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Waco after a long battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2012 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

Steve was born to H. Y. (Jack) McCown and Marie Callaway McCown in Hillsboro on April 18, 1945. A lifetime resident of Whitney, Steve graduated from Whitney High School in 1963. He married Mary Beth Pevehouse.

Steve worked for many years in Dallas for Goodbody and Company; later working for H. B. Zachry and retiring from Brown and Root.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenny H. McCown of Hillsboro.

Steve is survived by two daughters, Staci Bennett of Whitney; Marti Parker and husband, Steve of San Antonio; grandchildren, Whitney Parker of Nacogdoches, Averi Esquivel of Whitney, Jordan and Jacob Parker of San Antonio and Tori Esquivel of Whitney; first wife, Mary Beth Kitchens of Whitney; sister-in-law, Sandra McCown of Hillsboro; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
