Sue Foster

Dorothy Sue Foster, 84, of Hillsboro, left this earthly world January 31, 2015, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at the New Woodbury Cemetery in Woodbury. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Sue was born July 12, 1930 in Bridgeport, the daughter of J.D. and Lily Harris. She grew up in Italy and at age 18, she owned her café. In 1951, she married Thomas Ray Mabry and together they had three sons. The family moved to Ulvade, then later to Temple. While in Temple, Sue went to cosmetology school. When the family moved to the Hillsboro area, she opened Sue’s Beauty Salon. In 1967, she married Jerry Foster. All her son's friends knew her as Mama Sue, and she welcomed all to her home.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters and brother.

Sue is survived by sons, Thomas Ray Mabry Jr, and wife, Mary, of Whitney, James Dean Mabry and wife, Connie, of China Spring, and John Charles Mabry of Woodbury; sisters, Rene Harris of Woodbury and Anita Denn of San Antonio; grandchildren, Brandi Mabry, Brooke Kuykendall and husband, Calvin, Chance Mabry, Dillion Mabry, and Melissa Mabry; great-grandchildren, Jay and Jaiden Burch, Maddison Kuykendall, Mason Kuykendall and Cross Middlebrook.
