Susan Prather

Susan Anne Prather, 63, of Whitney, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, at her residence.

Susan was born on June 14, 1949 in Pilot Point, Texas, to the late William J. and Jimmye A. (Bullard) Williams. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1967 and then attended Hill College Nursing School where she obtained her nursing degree in October 1971. Susan was a very loving and caring person. She was an LVN nurse in Corsicana in the neonatal unit at the hospital and also worked at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth as well as nursing homes in Corsicana, Hillsboro, and Itasca. She moved to the Whitney area in 1999 and worked at Park Plaza Nursing Home as a charge nurse until her retirement in 2008, ending a 36 year nursing career. Susan enjoyed crocheting. She was of the protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Claudia Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Prather of Whitney and son Darby McDaniel and wife, Mary, of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
