Susie (Devore) Marshall

Susan Elaine Marshall, 63, of Whitney, Texas passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 11th, 2024, at the White Bluff Chapel, Whitney, Texas at 2:00p.m.

Susie was born on April 14, 1960, in Southampton, New York.  At the age of two, her family moved to San Antonio and later to Canyon Lake, Texas.  Upon High School graduation, she attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. At Howard Payne, she met her future husband, Randy.

Susie and Randy were blessed with two children; Blake and Amanda; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Emery, and Bennett.  She saw each child as gifts from the Lord and cherished the time spent with each of them.

Susie was a faithful minister’s wife impacting hundreds of people with her devotion to the Lord and sweet spirit.  With her winsome smile and engaging personality, people of all ages were attracted to her.  She had an extraordinary expressive love for her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. In later years, though she became physically limited, her positive attitude and humor inspired all who knew her. Susie was often more focused on others than she was on herself.  She lived her life for Jesus and anticipated the day she would see Him face to face.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Joyce Devore; sisters Cynthia Schaefer and Jaye Lynn Wood; and brother, Randy Devore. She is survived by her husband, Randy; son, Blake and daughter, Amanda; daughter-in-law, Lindsey; and grandchildren, Matthew, Emery, and Bennett.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandy Lynch and her husband, Bob; brother-in-law, Chris Wood as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and many, many friends.
