Suzie Cameron

Suzie Cameron, 64, of Itasca passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with her son, Mr. Roy Canada, officiating.

Suzie was born June 12, 1949 in Kennedy to Roy and Alma Ruth (Madden) Lyon. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing. Being a nurse was something she loved very much, especially caring for the elderly patients at the nursing home.

An avid horse lover, Suzie enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, camping, and was a very good cook around the campfire. On January 23 1993, she married C. J. Cameron in Grand Prairie. She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her father, Roy Lyon, and a sister, Nancy Little.

Survivors include her husband, C. J. Cameron of Itasca; mother, Alma Ruth Lyon of Hewitt; three sons, Roy Canada and wife, Gen, of Albuquerque, NM, Josh Canada and wife, Michelle, of Washington, NJ, and Benjamin Canada and wife, Laura, of Madrid, Spain; three brothers, Jim Lyon and wife, Deborah, of Houston, Bob Lyon and wife, Margie, of El Paso, and Roy Lyon and wife, Emma, of Bedford; sister, Betty Sandoval and husband, Ramon, of Waco; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, and Olivia Canada of Albuquerque, NM, Jonathan and Jared Canada of Washington, NJ, and Stephanie and Nancy Canada of Madrid, Spain; one cousin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and her loving pet companion, Henrietta.
