Swede Larson, age 74 of Whitney died in a Waco Hospital, June 19, 2004. He was the son of Edward and Mable Mundahl Larson. He married Jo Hankhouse on Dec. 28, 1953 in Pampa, TX. He served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1972. Mr. Larson along with his wife, Jo owned and operated Juniper Cove Marina for 24 years. He was member of the First Baptist Church of Whitney where he served as deacon. Swede was a member of the Kingfisherman Emmaus Community and also served as a director for HILCO Electric Cooperative. He was a life time member of the VFW Post # 8571 in Whitney and American Legion Post # 522 where he served as past Post Commander. He was also a member of the Hillsboro Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Jo Larson; children, Sandra Larson of Corpus Christi, Donna Simpson and husband, Jim of Waxahachie, Russell Larson and wife, Tammy of Austin; brother, Donald Larson and wife, Lennis of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; sister, Virgie Erickson and husband, Dots of Rollette, North Dakota; brother-in-law, Gary Hankhouse and wife, Mary of Whitney; aunt, Maysia Howell of Whitney, grandchildren, Jakob Bullard of Austin, Ashley Larson of Austin, Megan Larson of Austin and Sean Simpson of Waxahachie.
