Tandy Garrett

Tandy William Garrett, 65, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at his residence. Tandy was born September 24, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX the son of Victor William and Opal French Garrett. He served his country in the U. S. Navy. On June 18, 1992 he married Pat Bucher in Elko, NV. In 2009 he retired from MPG as a salesman. He was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Wylie Garrett; son-in-law, Jerry Furry; and a grandson, Brent Stiles. Tandy will be fondly remembered as a story telling, family loving, Harley riding, Longhorn following, jitterbug dancing, belly carrying, gun toting, bible verse reciting, fast driving, movie watching, hand holding, advice giving, earring wearing, granulator selling, sandwich making, beer drinking, temper inducing, heavy metal hating, grandchildren adoring, church going, God fearing, awe inspiring giant of a man, who was a true husband, father, brother, friend, and an example of what all of us should aspire to be. He will be missed, and survived by his wife, Pat Garrett of Hillsboro; children, Casandra Langley of Friendswood, Sunny Furry of Abbott, and Eddie Sas and wife, Rebecca, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Kandyce, Taylor, Jeremy, and Emily; brother, Robert Garrett and wife, Retta, of Utopia; sister, Vicky Thompson Bair and husband, Kenneth, of Dallas; three sisters-in-law, Noemi Garrett and Bevelyn Garrett both of Rosenburg and Pam Schulze and husband, Billy S., of Hillsboro; 7 nieces; 8 nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
