Born February 19, 1957 in Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Floyd Leon and Edna Mae (Sanders) Young. She attended schools in Hillsboro and was a 1975 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Nursing from Hill College. On December 8, 1986, Teresa was united in marriage to Dennis Allen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Teresa’s true calling was being a devoted and dedicated nurse. She worked as a pediatric and home health care nurse for many years. She lived and breathed nursing, not considering it a job but a passion. Teresa loved being able to care for her patients when she was employed with Lake Whitney Hospital, Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro, Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney, and most recently at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation in Itasca until a month ago when her health began to fail. She truly made a difference in each and every patient’s life that she served.
When she was not working, Teresa could be found spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family’s needs above her own. Teresa enjoyed attending rodeo events with her husband, children, and grandchildren. The many activities that her children and grandchildren were involved in kept her busy. From sporting events to livestock shows, she was always there cheering them on. Teresa was a friend to all people and truly loved everyone that she came into contact with. If a family member or friend needed help, she was always willing to do whatever she could for them. She was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her father, Floyd Leon Young on October 9, 1996; mother, Edna Mae Young on October 21, 2006; son, Cody Scott Allen on October 13, 1996; brother, Tony Leon Young on January 9, 2012; and father-in-law, Raymond Allen on September 16, 2002.
Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Dennis Allen; two children, Levin Ainsworth and wife, Kimberly and Kelly Pustejovsky and husband, Robert “Jr.”; nine grandchildren, Christian Ainsworth and fiancee, Samantha Blume, Scott Ainsworth, Cheyenne Ainsworth, Evan Jones, Kason Pustejovsky, Blayklee Pustejovsky, Paylin Ainsworth, Garrett Laborde, and Jonah Laborde; two great-grandchildren on the way; nephew, Tyler Young; niece, Apryl Young; great-nephew, Noah Hunt; great-niece, Dazia Apland; special sister, Kaye Leonard; special brother, Jay White; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and especially her family at the Itasca nursing home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Providence Hospice Place for their loving and compassionate care for Teresa during her final days.
