Theata Jo "T.J." (Lancaster) Daniels

Theata Jo (T.J.) Lancaster Daniels passed away peacefully and went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Homestead Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Texas.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, noon to 2:00 p.m. at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas. Graveside services to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Covington Cemetery, with Dr. Gerald Dudley officiating.

She was born on May 25, 1937, in Osceola, Texas, to Lula Johnson Lancaster and Ottis Eugene Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Ray Lancaster; her sister Robbie Jean Humphrey; her first husband and lifelong friend, Gene B. Hutson.  She is survived by her daughter, Gina Jordan and husband, Jack of Cleburne; daughter Lorie Johnson and husband James, Jr. of Alvarado, son Bradley Daniels and wife Tammie of Whitney; grandchildren Loren Johnson Lowery and husband Phillip, Garrett Johnson and wife, Taryn, Braxton Daniels, Gracie Daniels, Lillie Daniels Johnson and husband Kylon; great grandchildren Deklan Lowery, Ensley Lowery, Easton Johnson, Blakely Johnson.  She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Burns of Round Rock and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She loved her family fiercely and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They were the light of her life.  She liked a broad range of music and LOVED to dance. And if you were in reach when the music was playing, she would draw you to the living room floor to dance with her.  She loved to cook and was known for making special favorites for the family.  She was a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for many years and made lifelong friends at Park Plaza nursing home in Whitney, and when she transitioned to work at West Rest Haven, she added many dear friends to that list.  Her quick wit and fiery personality will be missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Garrett Johnson, Braxton Daniels, Phillip Lowery and Kylon Johnson, nephews Alan Humphrey, Duane Humphrey, Michael Dirk Lancaster, Rodney Lancaster and Mark Burns.

The family wishes to thank the many compassionate caregivers at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation of Hillsboro during her stay.
