Thelma Joyce Epting Conger went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday night August 22, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2011, at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Randy Anderson and Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
She was born on the Epting Farm in Chatt on August 9th, 1934 and lived in Hill County most of her life. In addition to farming, she enjoyed driving 18 wheelers and driving a school bus for Hillsboro, ISD and Whitney, ISD. She most enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Joyce resided in Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Beatrice (Watts) Epting; two brothers, Edward Epting and John Epting; and great-grandson, Caleb Rois Meador.
She is survived by her son, Eddie Conger and wife, Cathy; daughter, Dee Dee Meador and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Sarah McCroan and husband, J.D., Robert Conger, Rebecca Conger, Travis Conger, Charlie Meador and wife, Joni, James Meador, Lachelle Meador, Jeph Merritt, and Marrissa Merritt; and eight great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Doris Fields and husband, John, Boyd Epting and Gerry Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
