Theresa Basye

Theresa Basye, 58, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Edward Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the funeral home.

Theresa was born November 13, 1957 in Hillsboro to Billy Joe and Barbara (Springer) Kendrick. She lived in Hillsboro all of her life and was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro High School. On May 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Mike Basye. She had worked for Copper Technology and Spartan Copper. Theresa loved spending time with her family and caring for them was her life. She enjoyed volunteering at her children’s school, especially with FFA, and for many years served as the secretary for the Bynum Ag Boosters.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Mike Basye of Hillsboro; parents, Billy Joe and Barbara Kendrick of Hillsboro; two children, Bradley Basye and fiancee, Shelbi Felker, and Allison Nivens and husband, Kyle, all of Hillsboro; sister, Donna Dollar and husband, Jack, of Hillsboro; grandson, Kaleb Nivens; nephew, Jacob Dollar; and many other relatives and friends.
