Thomas Cumins

Thomas McKean “Tom” Cumins, 72 of Whitney passed away at his home on July 29, 2011.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 31,2011 at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney. Visitation with the family will be at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors from 7 - 9 P.M. Saturday, July 30, 2011.

Tom was born on August 3, 1938 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the son of the late Buford and Bertha McKean Cumins. He grew up in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Tecumseh. On May 7, 1983, he married Denyse Wood in Whitney. He was an avid golfer and a Oklahoma Sooner fan.

He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Jack and Buford Cumins; three sisters, Lorine Parker, Corinne Mouchette and Ramah Fink.

Survivors include his wife, Denyse of Whitney; children, Alan Dale Cumins and wife, Diane of Dallas, David Keith Cumins, Deborah Kay Hunt, Kim Jones and husband, Scott, Craig Gatilin and wife, Meghann and Rodney Gatlin and wife, Tiffiany all of Whitney; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 200 Bates Drive #400, Waxahachie, Texas 75167-4826.
