Thomas Stanley Lewis, 68, of Whitney passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in a San Antonio hospital. No services are scheduled at this time.
Thomas was born August 30, 1942 in Spur the son of Thurman Monroe and Nellie Avis (Rogers) Lewis. On September 21, 1963 he married Frances Epting. They lived in Dickens County, where he was a farmer and rancher, until 1984 when they moved to Whitney. He drove his own truck for Frank Brothers Trucking Company in Hillsboro before going to work for Town Square Furniture as a truck driver. In 2001, he retired from Dobb’s and Company in Hillsboro. Thomas was of the Methodist faith, but attended Hillsboro Church of The Nazarene for the past several years.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Jerry Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lewis of Whitney; three children, George Lewis of California, Edward Lewis of Seagoville, and Sheila Lemaster and husband, Chuck, of Ranger; sister, Inell Atkinson and husband, C. L, of Dickens; sister-in-law, Sandy Lewis of Dickens; six grandchildren, Kaymon Lewis of Chico, Charlena and Kelsey Lemaster both of San Angelo, Nastassja Lewis of Los Angeles, CA, Thomalyn Lewis of San Diego, CA, and Thurman Lewis of California; and four great-grandchildren.
