Thomas Ray Mabry, Sr., 73, of Woodbury, Texas died November 23, 2006, at the Temple VA Hospital. Mr. Mabry was born December 9, 1932 in Woodbury, Texas the son of Thomas Robert Mabry and Mamie Alma Hight Mabry. He grew up in the Woodbury Community where he attended school. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army and received 4 Bronze Stars and the U. S. Service Medal. After his discharge from the military, he met and married Dorothy Sue Harris and they had three sons. They moved to Waco and he worked at the TP&L office and attended Baylor University at night. In 1958 he graduated from Baylor and went to work for Texas Farm Bureau in the office and later transferred to being an adjustor in Uvalde. He later moved to Temple and had an agent office there for Farm Bureau. He then moved to Houston and worked for H. B. Zachary for a number of years. He later started an upholstery business in Houston and subsequently moved it to Waco. While in Waco, he was also in the pest control business. Following his years in Waco, he moved his business to Sequin for a number of years. About eight years ago, he moved back to Woodbury to take care of his mother. Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters. Survivors include three children Thomas Ray Mabry, Jr. and wife, Mary, of Whitney, James Dean Mabry and wife, Connie, of China Spring, and John Charles Mabry and wife, Amelia, of Woodbury; five grandchildren, Brandi Mabry and Brooke Kuykendall both of Hillsboro, Dillon Mabry and Melissa Mabry both of Woodbury, and Chance Mabry of Whitney; three great-grandchildren, Jay and Jaiden Burch and Maddison Kuykendall all of Hillsboro; nephew, Eddie Adams and wife, Susie, of Woodbury; niece, Rita Riemer and husband, David, of Georgetown; special friend, Randy Ballew and his mother, Barbara, of Hillsboro; his side kick, Holly; and special companion, Anna Whipkey. Memorials may be made to the Woodbury Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 863, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
