Thomas R. Marsh, 78, of Mayfield, Texas died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Mayfield. Thomas was born August 19, 1929 in Whitney, Texas, where he grew up and attended school, the son of Guy L. and Lola Grace Bilton Marsh. During his military service in the U. S. Army Air Force from 1946-1949, he did duty in both Korea and occupied Japan. On October 31, 1950 he married Doris Malone in Whitney. In 1951 he went to work for Bell Helicopter and rose to plant manager before his retirement in 1990. During his years at Bell Helicopter, he worked in Hurst, Panhandle, and overseas in Iran. An active member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #196, he was both the past High Priest and Master of the Hillsboro Chapter and Council, past Commander of the Hillsboro Commandery of Knight's Templar, and a member of the Shrine and Scottish Rite. He also was past Master of the Panhandle Masonic Lodge. In addition, he was a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award. Thomas was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, where he served as a deacon. His community involvement also included memberships in the Hillsboro Lions Club and American Legion. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Doris Marsh of Mayfield; children, Reggie Marsh and wife, Sandy, of Alvarado, Randy W. Marsh and wife, Tracy, of Krugerville, and Sandra Lee and husband, Donnie, of Lewisville; two brothers, Bobby Marsh and wife, Barbara, of Houston and Donald Marsh and wife, Patsy, of Burleson; two sisters, Mozelle Henry of Cuero and Charlotte Loving of Dallas; four grandchildren, Corie Marsh of Fort Worth, Jack Dunn, Jr. of Lewisville, Crystal Dunn of Irving, and Scott Dunn of Lewisville; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 271, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
