Thomas C. Watkins, 71 of Whitney and formerly of Irving passed away on November 17, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 21, 2011 at White Bluff Chapel in Whitney with Dr. Jim Gerlach of Oak View Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 3 - 5 PM, Sunday afternoon at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Thomas was born on August 16, 1940 in Whitesboro, Texas; the son of the late Alford Thomas and Willie Desma (McCoy) Watkins. He grew up in Irving and lived there most of his life before moving to Whitney two years ago. In March of 1985, he married Becky Menefee. Thomas was part owner and operator of Vector Concepts, a commercial flooring business in Irving. He loved playing golf and flying radio control airplanes. He was a member of White Bluff Chapel and Whitney Radio Control Club.

He was also preceded in death by daughter, Stephanie Kay Watkins and sister, Louree Riley.

Survivors include his wife, Becky of Whitney; children, Johnny Watkins and wife, Janet of Maybank, Debra Davis of Irving, Tommy Watkins and wife, Serina of Rowlett, Amber Morgan and husband, Paul of Keller, Joy Hale and husband, Charlie of North Richland Hills, Lena Jensen of Vero Beach, FL., Ryan Watkins and wife, Teresa of Grapevine; brothers, Tim Watkins and wife, Kelly of Euless, Wayne Watkins and wife, Phyllis of Irving; J. R. Watkins and wife, Brenda of Log Cabin; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
